April Showers...Bring Snow Showers

We have been getting rain the last couple of days in Bear Lake, however this morning the rain slowly transformed itself in to heavy snow. For anyone looking to have a last minute snow ball fight, or perhaps build a beach snowman, this may be your last chance to do it. We're gearing up for summer here in Bear Lake, however Mother Nature has her own idea of when summer will be here.

First RainThen Light SnowThen Heavy Snow
First we were having rain, Then we were having a light snow, Now we have been having a heavy snow

Meanwhile, the lake itself is really trying to bring spring in. The ice is breaking up and moving on to the beaches. Yesterday, while driving around the east side of the lake, Shanna stopped to get some pictures of the ice pushed up on the beach.

Just another day in Bear Lake. You never know what you're going to get.

Spring is Here

Spring is here...and we're still cold. While it seems like everyone else is watching flowers bud, and grass get green, we had snow fall this morning. Anyone who knows Bear Lake weather knows that within a day we can go from snow, to sun, to rain, back to snow. The snow is starting to melt down, meaning it is getting a bit simplier to go in to the hills, as long as you aren't afraid of the mud.

Cold is Back

Just as we thought Spring was on its way, Bear Lake decides to throw us a wind storm on Sunday, and snow this morning. Bear Lake just isn't quite ready for the Summer months after the calm and quiet of winter.

Bear Lake is Warming Up

It's starting to get warm here in Bear Lake and we couldn't be more ready. The lake is still frozen so plenty of people are trying to get their last days of ice fishing in before the ice melts. There is still snow on the ground, especially in the mountains, which means skiing and snowboarding are still going on. People are enjoying their winter activities but getting the warmth of the sun. If you are in Bear Lake and planning on driving in the hills, be sure to have four wheel drive because we are in MUD right now through the next few months.
